October 2009 Updates for Communicator R2 and OCS R2

October 2009 updates for both Office Communicator 2007 R2 and OCS 2007 R2 Server are available.

Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 

• Download: Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 Hotfix KB 972884
• Knowledge base article on what this update fixes.

One fix caught my eye: “Error message when you log off, restart, or shut down a computer that is running Communicator 2007 R2: “End Program – Communicator”.  I know several users who have experienced this before.

Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2

• Download: Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Hotfix KB 968802.
• Knowledge Base description of the hotfix.

There appears to be a ‘Cumulative Server Update Installer’ to help with installing all of these updates now (see “Method 1:” in the KB article).  Most of these updates look to be a cumulative rollup of previous hotfixes. I see two new updates specifically for October 2009.
