At least for now (2/16/2011), there’s still no reference to Lync server nor Lync client in WSUS.
Hi Tommy,
. I believe Lync 2010 clients can get their udpates from WSUS. I haven’t tried it yet myself, but here is what the official documentation says:
How about….now
“Lync 2010 clients can now receive updated software from Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) or Microsoft Update instead of from a location hosted on Lync Server 2010. When you set a Client Version Policy for Lync 2010, the options Allow with upgrade and Block with upgrade are still available. However, you no longer need to specify a location on the server for updated software. Instead, if you are using WSUS, clients receive updates from WSUS. Otherwise, clients receive updates from Microsoft Update”.

Any idea when Lync 2010 will be supported by WSUS for deploying updates?
